This is one of four small joyful paintings from the artists camping trip to the Peak District at Hathersage. Her early morning walks over Stanage Edge inpsired these paintings, taken from her watercolour sketches during her walks;
‘These colourful, joyful paintings are a happy memory of my solo painting trip to the Peak District. Frosty mornings on the hillside produced some stunning colours and low shadows across the landscape, that I couldn’t wait to capture. I had a small watercolour set with me on my walk and stopped often to capture them. These oil paintings are taken from memory and using the watercolour sketches as reference.’ Joanne Headington
