From the series - Hyacinth paintings. Three white hyacinths bought in the new year and planted in a thrifted Victorian, china spit bowl bought on a visit to Hay on Wye. The series follows the growing and blossoming of the hyacinths through the beginning of 2026.
The artist has said of her painting of flowers in mid winter:
‘It felt as though all the flowers in my garden had died and there seemed to be no colour left, but then I began to notice the cut flowers and bulbs blossoming everywhere in pots almost shouting to be seen. I found them joyful during the cold snaps and snowy storms we had at the beginning of our winter here in Wales. They warmed the studio space and brought life back to my painting.’
