'The Healer' is the perfect title for this painting of an Aloe Vera plant. It is part of the 'Family of Flowers' series - which explores familial dynamics using flowers as metaphor. The Healer is the only painting that refers to my father.
‘ I have used the subject of flowers to explore the close relationships that exist within immediate and extended families especially mother/daughter dynamics. Flowers presented themselves as the perfect metaphor to describe familial relationships in a beautiful and gentle way.’ (Joanne Headington)
