Farewell 2025

Dear friends,

This group of oil landscapes were shown in the last exhibition of 2025 at the upstairs gallery space - Art in the Bar in the Brecon Theatre. I realised that I ought to celebrate that. These paintings from 2023 are so beautiful to me. They were created at a difficult time of upheaval and change in my life, but I decided to choose happiness and paint. I can see it in the small, expressive, colourful little oil paintings. They are precious to me.
Making a deliberate decision to be happy when it felt impossible created wonderful opportunities that I could only have dreamt of back then. I am still learning so much about myself - facing the old fears and not running from them. Choosing peace and forgiving myself for my imperfections.
I'm still just a girl inside this 60 year old body, learning to live my life in a way that feels right for me. I'm no longer listening to the voices that tell me I couldn't, wouldn't, shouldn't. I'm only listening to the voices that tell me I can, I would, and I should.
I hope you can find something to be happy about in your 2025 and celebrate it. That doesn’t mean ignoring the disappointments or recognising the mistakes, I believe that by simply focusing on the positive wins and happy moments help to create a momentum of positivity and happiness. No list of New Year Resolutions here, I promise. I'm simply pushing through with the goals I set myself during 2025.

I am so proud of myself for sticking with them and not giving up or giving in. I hope to see more of you in 2026. I also hope to make this journalling space a place where you can come visit and catch up with my work as it progresses, with a little more space for writing about painting and process, than Instagram will allow. You will always get to hear about new paintings for sale here and any exhibitions or events.

Best wishes and Happy 2026!
